Secretary Cegavske Announces an Increase in Active Registered Voters in August

(Carson City, NV; September 3, 2019) – Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reports an increase of 14,479 active registered voters statewide during the month of August 2019 as compared to July 2019.  The total number of active registered voters in Nevada is 1,579,293, an increase of 0.93%.    

Democratic Party active registered voters statewide increased by 5,340 (0.90%), and Republican Party active registered voters statewide increased by 3,583 (0.68%).  Nonpartisan active registered voters increased by 4,355 (1.26%), Independent American Party active registered voters increased by 923 (1.34%), and Libertarian Party of Nevada active registered voters increased by 255 (1.61%).  Active registered voters from a compilation of “other” minor political parties increased by 23 (0.17%).

Of the 1,579,293 active registered voters in Nevada:

• 601,323 are Democrats (38.08%);

• 527,931 are Republicans (33.43%);

• 350,587 are Nonpartisan (22.20%);

• 69,970 are members of the Independent American Party (4.43%);

• 16,100 are members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada (1.02%); and

• 13,382 are members of other minor political parties (0.85%).
