Candidate Filing

**Please note the new requirement pursuant to Sec 2. of AB491(2025)  to be registered to vote in the "State, district, county, township, or other area prescribed by law in which the officer is required to reside and, if elected, over which he or she will have jurisdiction or will represent".

Judicial Candidates:

The filing period for Judicial Office is from Monday, January 5, 2026, through Friday, January 16,2026. All relevant details on timelines, eligibility, filing authorities, and fees are available at:

**Last day to register to vote or establish residency to qualify and file for candidacy: December 17, 2026

Non-Judicial Candidates:

The filing period for Non-Judicial Office is for Monday, March 2, 2026 through Friday, March 13, 2026. All relevant details on timelines, eligibility, filing authorities, and fees are available at:

**Last day to register to vote or establish residency to qualify and file for candidacy: February 11, 2026

What Legally Defines a Candidate

 NRS 294A.005 Candidate means any person:

1. Who files a declaration of candidacy.
2. Whose name appears on an official ballot at any election; or
3. Who has received one or more contributions more than $100, regardless of whether:
(a) The person has filed a declaration of candidacy; or
(b) The name of the person appears on an official ballot at any election.

 

Primary Election

The 2026 Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.  

The Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE) will be available to use not later than Friday, April 24, 2026 and will close with polls on election day.

Early Voting began on Saturday, May 23, 2026 and ran through Friday, June 5, 2026.

The list of candidates that will appear on the 2024 General Election ballot will be posted here.

 

General Election

The 2026 General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

The Effective Absentee System for Elections (EASE) will be available to use not later than Friday, September 25, 2026 and will close with polls on election day.

Early voting begins on Saturday, October 17, 2026 and runs through Friday, October 30, 2026.

Polling locations will be posted here. 

Election results will be posted here after the close of polls.
